Ria Prepares Upo and Green Papaya

Ria loves to cook, and she takes great pride when prepping her vegetables and meats.

She uses upo (long bottle gourd) for ginisang soup and the green papaya for tinola. Ria explained to me that when the papaya is green it is a vegetable, and when it is yellow, it is a fruit. We purchased these Asian vegetables at the G & L Import Export market located at 4828 E 22nd Street in Tucson, Arizona.
